Challenges & goals

We needed to seamlessly merge tradition with tech. Our task was to incorporate and accurately represent Pieroth’s extensive wine history, dating back 300 years, whilst also creating a modern online shop. We therefore equally focused on content and storytelling, as well as on products and services, to ensure that we protected and included Pieroth’s corporate identity.

Our approach

We had two main tasks: Unite tradition with modernity AND make the services easily accessible. This is turf that we are very familiar with, so we knew exactly what to do. Start with a UX and concept workshop to create a collective vision for Pieroth’s future online presence.

Roadmap - Shop Implementation

Together with the stakeholders, we run through the Concept Phase of establishing wireframes and developing features in Design Sprints or UX Workshops. The wireframes are then refined in Visual Design in terms of color and aesthetics, and ultimately converted into their Shop Theme. Furthermore, individually programmed interfaces ensure the connection of all relevant systems.

Meeting All Needs

01 Oh, the Tales That Wine Could Tell

A full experience. For Pieroth, wine represents so much more than simply being a luxury good. Every variety, every bottle, every winery has its origin, its history and unique taste. This passion needs to be felt by their audience through their new online shop, along with blog style posts of recipes and tips.

02 Tailored to Your Palate

Pieroth doesn’t only sell wine, they are also invested in sharing knowledge. They are eager to expertly guide their customers on the discovery of finding their ‘perfect blend’. They do this by holding tasting events, as well as offering online wine tastings from home. Customers can book these services via the new online shop.

03 Cover Your Bases

Make a splash! The newly designed online shop also serves as the company website for Pieroth Germany. We created a webpage that was stylish, functional, and represented the companies’ current market distribution position. It also includes important internal bits, such as a career page.

04 The Full Omnichannel Experience

Pieroth Germany has grown considerably, due to its unique direct sales concept which comprises of their close business partnerships with their cherished advisors. The back-end programming is ready and waits in eager anticipation for the potential of future customer sales. It is geared toward making for an enjoyable omnichannel experience for customers by pulling on Pieroth’s strengths – their current direct sales funnel & their new E-Commerce site.

The new online shop is an important step in Pieroth's digital strategy.

Their online appearance hints toward a sturdy foundation or an ambitious omnichannel concept through which Pieroth wants to combine its ctraditional strengths with digital added value.

→ Visual Design

Once the Concept Phase is completed, we further explore and develop the Visual Design. This is where we implement the visual and aesthetic refinements to Pieroth Germany’s new online presence.

As part of the relaunch, a revised corporate design was released that had a significant influence on the make-up of site. Resulting in a design that brings Pieroth's tradition and future together in the digital world.

A balance of informative text and stimulating images was ensured to properly tell the many tales of this reputable brand.

Microservices powered by The Cloud

The company website and the online shop were set up together on the Shopify Plus platform. We made sure that the layout of their new Shopify website matches Pieroth’s unique corporate design with an Individual Shopify Theme.

In the background, microservices act as interfaces for an optimal data flow between the shop and the customer's SAP ERP system, the booking system for wine tastings and other third-party systems.
